When asked about the film’s final box office total, trade expert Taran Adarsh said, "Metro... In Dino is also releasing this week and targets a similar audience. Plus, there's Jurassic World: Rebirth, which will also affect Sitaare Zameen Par’s performance. I’m not saying it will completely flop, but yes, it will face some impact. I think it will comfortably cross the ₹150 crore mark, but going beyond that might be difficult."
Considering the film’s modest budget and the shift in audience behavior after the pandemic, the earnings so far are impressive. Still, some critics are comparing it to Aamir Khan’s older blockbusters and using that to criticize the film’s performance.
Taran Adarsh responded to that, saying, "Yes, people point out that Aamir delivered a ₹300 crore hit with Dangal in 2016. But this is a different kind of movie. It’s not like Ghajini, Dhoom 3, or Thugs of Hindostan. You have to look at the film’s nature and budget. It’s not a big action entertainer—it’s a film that grows through positive word of mouth."
Film distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal also shared his view: “There’s very little competition from Bollywood in the film’s third week, so I believe it will earn somewhere between ₹140 to ₹150 crores.
